A week in Japan, on the page

So this summer, Jaime and I decided to take a last minute trip to the wonderful island of Japan!!! So cool, still not over it 🇯🇵

We landed in Tokyo and got on a train straight to Yokohama. Like, immediately. That's the thing about Japan. You're riding their trains within an hour of landing and it's the best welcome ever.

Pro tip: download the Suica card to your iPhone before you go. It's right in your Apple Wallet. Then you just tap your phone at every gate. Trains, buses, convenience stores, vending machines. Everything. No tickets, no fumbling with cash. Game changer.

We stayed at the InterContinental in Yokohama right on the pier and honestly?? I could have just stayed there the whole trip.

One day we took two trains down to Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise. It's this whole island that's half aquarium, half amusement park. Dolphins, rides, the works. So fun.

Also did the Cup Noodles Museum in Yokohama!! You get to make your own cup noodles. Like design the cup and pick your flavors. 10/10 🍜

Then Osaka. Had Kobe beef (I have no words). Walked Dotonbori, which is basically this wild neon street full of food stalls and giant signs. Everyone there is dressed SO well. Like full outfits on a Tuesday. It made me realize I save my cute clothes for "special occasions" but over there every day is the occasion. New mindset unlocked.

The most special day was Koyasan. It's this sacred mountain town full of Buddhist temples, and there's a cemetery there that's over a thousand years old. You just walk through it. Quiet, misty, so healing. You can actually sleep overnight in one of the temples!! We only did the day trip but I'm going back for the overnight stay.

We loved Yokohama so much we went BACK before flying out 😭 Then one last rainy night in Tokyo. Still buzzing even in the rain. Ended up in Don Quijote, which is this insane multi-floor discount store that has literally everything. An experience 😂

Airport on the way home: chocolate. Everywhere. My suitcase was basically snacks.
